TaylorMade’s iconic Spider family has a new member. The all-new Spider ZT follows the trend of Zero Torque technology. These putters have grown in popularity amongst golfers over recent years as they are designed to help players repeat their putting stroke more often for more consistency.

TaylorMade TP Black Balboa Putter Review: Oozes class but does it perform?

TaylorMade have introduced a bold new design and a range of innovations aimed at enhancing stability, consistency, and confidence. The Spider ZT putter is a high-MOI mallet putter that will also aim to improve accuracy whilst building confidence at address and through impact when striking the ball.

The TaylorMade Spider ZT putter has already earned its stripes on the PGA TOUR with one win in 2025, while Haeran Ryu secured victory at the LPGA Tour’s Black Desert Championship using the new putter. That early success suggests TaylorMade’s latest innovation isn’t just hype, so let’s take a look at the tech that makes this putter stand out…

TaylorMade Spider ZT Putter: The Technology

At the heart of the Spider ZT’s innovation is its “toe-up” or “face-forward” balance configuration. This is somewhat of a major departure from traditional mallet designs. By minimising torque, the ZT reduces the need for players to manipulate the clubface during the stroke.

The result? A putter that stays square to the target line more naturally, helping players keep putts on line and boosting confidence both at address and through the ball.

The Spider ZT features a 100% milled, multi-material construction. The face is made of high-density 303 stainless steel, while the back section uses lightweight 6061 aluminium. A pure roll insert creates a softer feel, better sound and an all-round better roll of the golf ball.

Combined with extreme perimeter weighting and strategically placed TSS, TaylorMade Swingweight System, weights, this allows for a more precise CG, centre of gravity, position. In a way this maintains a true toe-up design, whilst also dramatically increasing the forgiveness and stability.

To further reduce torque, TaylorMade has placed the CG 25mm behind the face and aligned the shaft directly with it. With just 1° of onset, this setup leans slightly forward at address, encouraging consistent forward roll and reducing the likelihood of adding unwanted loft at impact.

TaylorMade have also equipped this putter with a new sole shaping. The new sole curvature is designed to allow the putter to be used by different player types and ball positions. Ultimately this is working towards golfers having a consistent and repeatable putting stroke.

The TaylorMade Spider ZT is available in three different types; standard, counter balance and long. Custom options are also available for the length and grip options.
