Completing the 2021 range is the TaylorMade SIM2 irons, with their fresh looks and new models. Let’s take a look.

TaylorMade SIM2 irons: First Impressions

I have to say I am really impressed with the restyling of these this year. In terms of looks, the irons are the club that have changed the most since the SIM.

The new Cap on the back is much sleeker and I really like the fact there is a more obvious visual definition between each model this year.

TaylorMade SIM2 irons: The line-up

TaylorMade SIM2 Max: The Max is the most popular model in the SIM line-up thanks to its more compact sizing paired with its powerful performance.

TaylorMade SIM2 Max OS: These irons are a super game improvement offering so have a more oversized head than the Max. They CG is lower meaning these are the longest iron in TaylorMade’s range. They are also more draw bias than the SIM2 Max.

TaylorMade SIM2 irons: The technology

They key new technology in this years irons is called ‘cap back design’.

This is a new lightweight material which runs across the back of the club head. It sits below the top line making it more rigid. This allows the face to flex more creating increased ball speed and distance.

To improve feel TaylorMade have added a flexible insert inside the clubhead which absorbs vibrations to give a forged like feel.

Each irons sweet spot is carefully located relative to where players strike it on the face. This means in the longer irons it moves towards the toe to counter balance golfers common right miss.
