First Impressions

Straight out of the box, I love the look of these shoes. The soft pink and white upper looks great without being too in your face. And, the bright pink sole adds a real pop of colour during your shots. The laces that came in the shoe were white with soft pink detailing but a separate bright pink pair of laces do also come with these shoes to increase the dosage of pink. If the pink colourway is a little too much for you, GFore does offer these shoes in a white/navy colourway.

Design wise these are a fairly modern/sporty shape. There is a thick rubber sole with G/LOCK technology cleats in which look like they will help keep any player grounded.

In terms of first impressions on the feet, firstly I was glad that they fit. I tested my first pair of GFore shoes a couple of years back and sadly opted for a size too small. As per the website’s ‘recommend ordering a size up if in-between’ information and my past experience I managed to chose the correct size this time. They fit perfectly and were very comfortable. Inside the the shoe is GFore’s signature lattice style insole. The cushioned foam made to form tiny bumps that sit across the whole footbed. At first it’s an unusual feeling so I’m intrigued to see how it feels for a whole round.

On Course Testing

From the first shot you could tell these shoes were going to keep you grounded. The spiked sole gave so much stability which is exactly what you want from a pair of golf shoes, especially as someone like me who plays in all weather conditions. The ground outside for me is getting damper having had a lot of rain fall in the last week and it was nice to have a shoe on that I felt like I could camber up and down the hills without the fear of slipping.

As I got further around the course I realised how lightweight these shoes actually were for something that is pretty chunky. There is a larger than average amount of sole padding on these shoes which not all players will love but for me I found this to be comfortable. I am 5ft 9 so don’t need any more inches height wise but these didn’t make the feel any different.

Comfort wise, I found these really comfortable out of the box. As mentioned I had sized up from my last GFORE review a few years ago as they do run smaller. I went for a UK 8 which would also be my Adidas sizing but in a FJ/Nike/Callaway shoe I would opt for a UK 7.5, for reference. These shoes do also fall into being more narrow, so not one I’d recommend for those with wider feet. Size 8 is certainly a larger than average shoe size but I was pleasantly surprised to be given multiple compliments to say that they look smaller than that, which is a nice little win.

Having worn these shoes for two lots of 9 holes around my home club I did find some discomfort to start with around my big toe. This wore off quickly once my foot had bed into the cushioned soles. After around 8 holes I did also experience some rubbing on my right heel. These shoes are shaped at the heel which may have contributed to this but hopefully this goes away as I wear them more.

In terms of cleaning these shoes up, I really didn’t want to the white and pink design to ruined after one round of golf. The premium waterproof T.P.U. absolutely did its job and made cleaning these up very easy.

Overall, these are a really solid pair of golf shoes that would see you through any weather conditions.
