Cleveland CBX 2: First Impressions
A wedge for every day golfers, with maximum forgiveness and tour inspired spin? We’re all ears…
Cleveland CBX 2: The Technology
It is a cavity back wedge designed for ultimate forgiveness, versatility and spin. The hollow-cavity design features an empty gap behind the heel but a heavy tungsten weight in the toe. This helps move the centre of gravity towards the toe and makes the sweet spot bigger where your typical club golfer would usually make contact.
Rotex face technology features Cleveland’s sharpest tour zip grooves ever. This provides more spin, even from the rough. Aggressive Rotex and laser milling increases friction – generating maximum spin and control.
The range features three sole designs arranged by loft. The V-shaped sole is available from 46° to 52° and S-sole in 54° and 56°. Finally the C-shaped sole is just available in 58° and 60°.
Cleveland CBX 2: NCG Verdict
Over the ball this wedge gives you lots of confidence due to its large and forgiving shape and styling. The sole is quite wide, because of the large amount of bounce throughout the set, but visually they still sat great behind the ball.
I found the strike quality was excellent on full shots and I had a really stable ball flight. Generally, I would say my tendency is to strike the ball towards the toe on full shots so the added forgiveness in this area really helped me.
