4.5 star review
NCG SUMMARY

The G.112 Stripe Kiltie’s are a stylish pair of golf shoes that give out of the box comfort.

Beaded with the usual bobbles on the inner sole you’d expect from G/FORE, these shoes were just as comfortable on the 18th green as they were when I first tried them on. I’d recommend half a size up on your usual – and these shoes were generous on width.

The synthetic upper was easy to wipe clean.

PROS

  • Great styling
  • Easy to wipe clean
  • Comfortable and supportive

CONS

  • Water resistant not fully waterproof

First Impressions

Last week I got a sneak peak at the new Men’s G.112 shoes that got delivered to the office and it’s safe to say I was pretty jealous. So, fast forward a week later you can imagine my delight to see a pair of G/FORE golf shoes arrive in my size.

Out of the box, I was wowed. These are a great looking pair of shoes. At the time of taking them out of the box I was wearing jeans and trying them on for the first time, it was just like I had bought a fresh pair of white trainers! I love the casual style and the pink and green stripe add’s a fun pop of colour.

I’ve had a few pairs of G/FORE shoes now so I know what to expect. The classic bobbled insole has been used. To someone who has never owned or tried a pair of these shoes, this is lot of little bumps on the insole that is designed to massage your feet as you go. At first an interesting sensation but one you become accustomed to/learn to love.

As I mentioned these aren’t my first pair of G/FORE shoes and so I’ve learnt what size I need. I can be a UK 7, 7.5 or 8, brand dependant. G/FORE for me I need to size up, so I wear a UK8. For reference this would also be my Adidas size but in FootJoy I’m a UK 7.5 – so if you’re not sure I’d size up in these.

They fit perfectly, my foot didn’t feel squashed and they honestly felt very comfortable so I was excited to get them out on course.

On Course Testing

From my initial sizing thoughts when I set off walking I realised that these were actually quite spacious in terms of width. This is great as they do look like a narrow fitting shoe but they certainly had plenty of space for my feet.

I braved taking these bright white shoes out on a dry day in March. Having finished the round I was so happy that they were as comfortable as I first thought – so no discomfort at all.

These shoes don’t have the sharpest grips on the spineless sole but they did do a good job at keeping me stable both during the swing and walking around the course.

Having gotten a fair bit of mud on these I did find it really easy to wipe off as the upper is made from a seamless synthetic upper construction.

NCG Verdict

Overall, these are a great pair of golf shoes. I very much enjoyed wearing them out on the course and even think these could be worn casually too given their trainer style. I look forward to wearing them more.
