NCG SUMMARY
I think golfers with quicker swing speeds will definitely benefit from the Callaway Chrome Tour golf ball more than a club golfer. It offers fast ball speeds and optimal spin rates for long distances. Additionally there is plenty of control available when it matters around the greens.
If you’re looking to break away from whatever your normal tall ball is, you cannot go wrong with Callaway this year. These are epic.

Callaway Chrome Tour Triple Diamond Golf Ball Review: First Impressions
Noticeably, this Callaway golf ball does sound and feel a bit different than other Callaway options on the market for 2025. They were firmer than other Callaway urethane balls, and provided a distinct feedback on putts and short-game shots. This extra firmness may not appeal to every golfer, particularly those who prefer a softer feel.
NCG Verdict
The first thing to point out is that this may not be a suitable ball for the average golfer. Instead, the Triple Diamond is built more for high-speed players who want maximum efficiency off the driver while still maintaining spin and control in the short game. It’s comparable to the Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash (Bryson DeChambeau’s choice of ball), which is another firm-feeling tour ball that prioritises ball speed and low spin.
There is certainly no shortage of tech in this model. It features the Hyper Fast Soft Core, engineered to maximise ball speed, along with Callaway’s Tour Aero dimple design, which enhances consistency in flight. Additionally, the Tour Urethane cover ensures short game performance with a high level of spin control, particularly around the greens. This makes it a well-rounded option for players seeking both distance and short-game precision.
I was able to unlock some of this short game performance during testing. When hitting 50-yard pitch shots I was able to record the average spin rates at 7,800 RPM. Although this was slightly lower than the Chrome Tour X, it still delivered ample stopping power.
Some of my shots managed to exceed the 8,000 RPM benchmark, which was great for my confidence on approach shots. The Tour Urethane cover provides strong greenside performance, though the firmer feel may give an impression of lower spin.

Moving further into the bag, the spin with the mid irons was also extremely optimal. I averaged a 6,400rpm spin rate with a 7-iron whilst the ball speed was solid at 118 mph, resulting in a 171-yard total distance and a 116-foot peak height. This makes it a consistent and reliable performer in the mid-iron game.
Driver performance is where I found the Chrome Tour Triple Diamond stands out. I was able to record a notable 3 mph increase in ball speed from previous Callaway models I have tested, reaching totals up to 162 mph.
Spin rate was also good at 2,600 RPM which is well-suited for high-speed players looking for optimal launch conditions. This all lead to a strong carry distance of 281 yards, totalling 298 yards, placing it among the best Callaway options off the tee for me.
Overall, the Callaway Chrome Tour Triple Diamond is a great premium tour ball for elite-level players. If you have a high swing speed and prefer a firmer, lower-spinning tour ball, this is one of the best options in 2025. However, if you prefer a softer feel or more spin, alternatives like the Chrome Tour X or Chrome Soft may be better suited.
