Not every golfer swings it like Tiger Woods and thankfully, Bridgestone knows that. The Tour B RXS is Bridgestone’s answer to the massive segment of golfers swinging under 105 mph. Designed to deliver tour-level performance without demanding elite-level clubhead speed. This ball is aimed at players seeking soft feel, extra distance, and greenside control, all without overloading their swing.

NCG SUMMARY

The Bridgestone Tour B RXS is a standout choice for moderate swing speed golfers who want a tour-level golf ball without having to play at a tour-level tempo. It’s fast off the driver, forgiving in the wind, and offers a feel that inspires confidence across the bag. While it may not be the best fit for players with speeds well over 105 mph, those in the intended bracket will likely see real performance gains, especially in distance.

This isn’t a ball for show. It’s a ball for smart players who want the right tool for their game, not just the one with the most hype. Bridgestone have successfully delivered a genuine alternative to the “Pro V1 or bust” mentality. If you’ve ever wondered whether your ball is holding you back, the Tour B RXS is absolutely worth putting in play.

Bridgestone Tour B RXS Golf Ball Review: First Impressions

There’s a lot going on under the hood here. The ball features Bridgestone’s REACTIV X Smart Cover, which reacts differently depending on the club. I found it flies off the face with drivers and fairways for more distance, yet grips with irons and wedges for more spin and control. The gradational compression core means the ball behaves like it has multiple layers as it compresses efficiently on long shots and remains soft on short ones. Add to that the dual dimple design, which enhances aerodynamics for a more stable ball flight in windy conditions, and you’ve got a very modern piece of golf ball engineering.

NCG Verdict

On test, it quickly became clear to me that the Tour B RXS isn’t just about technology on paper. While it wasn’t quite suited to my game entirely, as I have quicker swing speed than those that this is aimed at, I found it still performed admirably.

My wedge shots spun less than some other tour balls, with a 50-degree wedge generating around 7100 RPM. This is slightly lower than I would expect, but it still offered workable control when I was hitting into the greens.

Further into the bag, the 7-iron followed a similar trend, with spin again on the lower side. But what stood out was the distance I was able to achieve. A carry of 165 yards and a total of 175 yards means it is the longest performing ball I have tested so far this year. While ball speed weren’t outstanding, the extra distance is clearly being delivered through the ball’s intelligent compression design.

With the driver, things became more interesting. Despite some over-compression, I thought my numbers were still solid. Ball speeds of 158 mph, a 269-yard carry, and 290 yards total were respectable figures for me. They are also figures that a large portion of amateur golfers would happily take all day long. The Tour B RXS is doing what it’s designed to do off the tee, add distance without requiring extra speed.

Final Verdict

Overall, the Tour B RXS isn’t a universal fit, but that’s the point. It’s not made for big swingers, it’s designed for the vast majority of amateur golfers who want tour-level tech in a more forgiving package. Bridgestone has done a fantastic job giving players a taste of what the pros use, but optimised for realistic swing speeds.

If you’re chasing distance, consistency, and a soft feel without giving up too much spin, the Tour B RXS deserves a serious look. It’s a reminder that choosing the right ball for your game, not Tiger’s, is often the smartest move.
