Tour Edge Exotics Golf Ball Review: NCG Summary

NCG SUMMARY
40 years in the golf industry and it’s been worth the wait for Tour Edge to produce their first ball, Exotics.
A firmer feeling, responsive ball that delivers on its promise for high levels of short game spin and lower spin with the driver. Distance wasn’t a problem for the Exotics and constantly too!
Coming in at $39.99, they’re absolutely worth a try!
PROS
- Comparable distance with other premium balls
- Exceptional performance off the tee
- Great short game spin
- Great value for money
CONS
- None
First Impressions
Tour Edge have been in the golf industry a long time and so their first golf ball won’t have been rushed. The silver packaging is simple yet effective. Out of the packaging you can feel the quality of the cast urethane design. The advanced 318-dimple pattern is soft and smooth, I couldn’t wait to hit them.

The Tour Edge branding on the ball is smart. The logo and number combination is a classic golf ball aesthetic and the alignment aid on the side is a nice touch for battling the greens.
NCG Review
As a brand who has never produced ball I didn’t know what to expect going into testing the Exotics. My first few shots I could tell this was a firmer ball. Tour Edge have the feel listed as being ‘responsive’, which it certainly was but firmer than my regular Titleist Pro V1x.
I tested the Tour Edge Exotic using a SkyTrak in an indoor studio. Starting with pitching wedge, the data was very consistent as you would expect from a premium ball. My carry was a little down on what I’d usually expect but it currently pretty chilly in the UK so I won’t blame the ball for that. Spin numbers were impressive. I’m not a high spin player and so getting a wedge spinning close to 7000 RPM is pretty good for me.
Tour Edge have designed this ball to have a high amount of approach and green side spin. They have used soft ionomer mantle that enhances control on approach shots. A ultra-thin cast urethane cover helps to provide exceptional feel and short-game spin for confident scoring around the green.

Moving through the bag to 7 iron I can’t fault these numbers. They’re very similar to what I’d expect to see with my current set up. The spin was a couple hundred RPM down on my usual but carry was around my typical data.

With Driver, as shown in the table below the Tour Edge Exotic performed well. I was very happy to see an average of 231 yards carry. Ball speed was also consistently very impressive. Spin numbers did vary a little and on average were lower than I’d typically expect. This ball is designed to be lower spinning with long game shots, favouring those higher speed players more.

NCG Verdict
Overall, this is a great first golf ball for Tour Edge. The numbers are strong and very consistent. It has a firmer, responsive feel that delivers on higher spin with short shots and lower spin with driver.
Tour Edge has also priced the Exotics at a very reasonable price of $39.99 (roughly £30) for a dozen.
