First impressions

Sunderland are renowned for their great waterproof products, and I had never tried any, so I was excited to get my hands on one.

Straight away from unpacking, you could tell this was of excellent quality. The jacket has an inner mesh lining which is lightweight and designed to enhance breathability. There is also a handy inside pocket!

The Killy waterproof jacket adopts Sunderland’s Never Weather Beaten protection. This includes features such as thermoplastic tape, which stops water from entering the seams. As the jacket is a full zip, this is seen down the front and on the pockets.

Sunderland offers this jacket in 6 different colourways meaning there is something for everyone. The colours range from bright pinks and purples to more neutral all-black (as shown in the photos) and blacks with pink detailing.

On course testing

As a UK12 and being 5ft 8, I got this jacket in a medium. I really liked how it fit. It was long enough in the body and arm, and there was enough room in it for it not to affect my swing. The jacket can be adjusted at the cuffs, neck, waist and hem, meaning that you can alter it to suit your needs.

My favourite feature of this jacket must be the cuffs of the sleeves. Under the outer layer of the jacket is a tighter material piece to stop the cold or rain from going down your sleeves. I thought this was a great little touch, as I hate constantly having to pull my sleeves down to stay warm.

The jacket also offered zipped-up pockets which were fleece lined for added warmth between shots. The zips were also coated to prevent water from entering.

My only slight criticism I have about this jacket is that the toggles that adjust the waist are in the pockets and often came out when I got something out of my pocket. This is nothing major and certainly doesn’t take anything away from the overall quality of the jacket.

The 19th hole

I have really enjoyed wearing this piece. It’s so lightweight and easy to swing in and has all the great features you’d want from a waterproof jacket. I think this jacket also works really well off of the course, having worn this to the supermarket several times it definitely is multi-purpose!
