Gold, Silver and Bronze: Ecco Golf dominated the Olympic podium

The United States of America may have finished top of the medal podium, but ECCO GOLF also made their own medal splash at the Olympic Games.

The golfing footwear company, ECCO GOLF, completed the medal set at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. All three medalists wore Hybrid ECCO GOLF shoes around Le Golf National last week.

It was New Zealand who took home the gold medal as Lydia Ko carded a one-under 71 on the final day to claim a two shot victory. The ECCO GOLF ambassador completed the Olympic medal set, after she previously won silver in 2016 at the Rio Olympics, and bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Speaking after her maiden gold medal, Ko said: “I kept telling myself, ‘I’m so proud of myself’. I don’t ever really say that. I feel like that’s a weird thing to tell yourself, but I kept saying I’m proud of myself no matter what happens. To be holding gold right now, it’s crazy. I can’t believe it.”

The former world number one is now the latest player to be added to the LPGA’s hall of fame after securing gold.

As she sunk a birdie on the 72nd she did so wearing ECCO GOLF Tray shoes. The sneaker-style golf shoe features a very minimalistic design, but is something you cold wear as easily off the course as on it. Seemingly perfect for the hot, dry Paris summer.

Ko’s fellow ECCO GOLF ambassador, Esther Henseleit of Germany, took the second spot on the podium. Henseleit shot a hugely impressive round of 6-under par during Saturday’s final round to leapfrog her into the medal positions. She started the day in 13th and seven shots off the lead, by the close of play she had helped add to Germany’s medal tally which finished on 33.

“I had a bit of a struggle at the start into the back nine, but I managed to make some great pars, and then to finish birdie-birdie, is incredible”, Henseleit said after winner silver.

The German wore the ECCO S-Three golf shoes in Paris. This hybrid shoe, focuses heavily on delivering unparalleled comfort, according to ECCO. Its FLUIDFORM™ sole innovation helps to maximise stability and flexibility, as well as comfort.

Whatever the perks and technological features, it seemed to deliver enough performance to secure a podium finish at the Olympic Games.

Lin Xiyu completed the sweep for ECCO GOLF. The Chinese golfer pipped four others by one shot to win bronze as she finished seven under par.

Xiyu rocked the ECCO BIOM H4 shoes on her way to a medal finish. An upgraded shoe that ECCO believe is a sleeker, sportier and more youthful looking golf shoe. The shoe is also advertised to have wet-weather protection, which I don’t believe was overly needed in the scorching heat Paris endured for the majority of the games. A shoe that can be used all-year round.
