Mizuno Pro S-3 Irons: The Technology
The first thing associated with Mizuno irons is the unbeatable feel, after all nothing feels like a Mizuno. As part of the crafting of these irons Mizuno included a Grain Flow Forged HD process which is performed exclusively at Mizuno’s Hiroshima plant to help achieve the exceptional feel.

Additionally, materials like 1025E Pure Select Mild Carbon Steel and Copper Underlay are also used in the construction of the Pro S-3 irons. The carbon steel is helps to optimise a responsive, soft touch that golfers can utilise for added performance, such as greater control.
Copper Underlay is a subtle inclusion that aids the feel of the irons at impact as it enhances vibration patterns to make a more smooth, connected feel.
The design of these irons has been refined and looks more sleeker than previous generations. Mizuno have refined every curve and contour to meet the preferences of golfers. Such refinements include a thinner topline for a more tour-preferred appearance at address.

Other changes to the shaping of the irons occurs at the sole which has also been made thinner to improve the versatility of the clubs in making shots more playable from various lies. A more compact head length improves the workability for different shot types as well as enhanced control.
The overall aesthetic of the Mizuno Pro S-3 irons includes straighter lines to deliver a more modern appearance.

Mizuno’s Triple Cut Sole also helps to improve the irons turf interaction and provides a more consistent basis for better performance. This new sole enables a more sloped leading edge for an easier path through the turf and cleaner contact on the ball, a hard cut trailing edge for a better exit from the ground and an optimised sole geometry.
