Golf insurance is designed to cover items such as golf clubs, bags, trolleys and related accessories against events including theft, loss and accidental damage. Depending on the level of cover it can also protect you just in the UK, Europe or Worldwide.
After all, protecting your equipment can be just as important as protecting your game.
But, which are the best golf insurance providers to go with?
Well, to help with your search, we explore the golf equipment insurance options from both Golf Care and Insure4Sport. These are two specialist providers trusted by golfers across the UK.Â
We outline what golf equipment insurance covers, how the policies compare, and the benefits of each…
Golf Care
Golf Care provides golf insurance policies that include cover for golf equipment alongside other golf-related risks.
They offer four different packages, all of which have different levels of equipment cover but include £10M Public Liability, New for Old golf clubs and equipment cover up to 3 years old, as well as hole-in-one bar bill cover as standard.
Their most popular package is the Bronze offering. Priced at £28.05, this includes golf equipment cover from theft, loss and damage of up to £1,500.
The next one up is the Silver package which increases the equipment cover to £2,000 and costs £33.34 per year.
If you have a more expensive golf bag then the Gold package, which covers up to £3,000 worth of damage, could be the one for you. It will cost you £47.45 every 12 months.
Finally, Golf Care’s best value for money package is the Platinum deal. Although it will set you back £60.68 per year, it does cover up to £7,500 worth of golf equipment.
Equally all these policies cover; Public Liability up to £10m, Personal Accident cover up to £50,000, New-for-Old golf clubs and equipment cover up to 3 years old, UK Cover (Gold package also covers Europe whilst the Platinum one is eligible worldwide), Golf Equipment hire (in the event of loss/theft) up to £500, Dental Treatment up to £500, Accidental Damage to Third Party Property up to £2,500, Hospitalisation up to £25 a day, Club Subscription Reimbursements up to £8,000, Tournament Fee Reimbursements up to £250, and a Hole-In-One bar bill up to £200.

Insure4Sport
Like Golf Care, Insure4Sport offers four levels of golf insurance designed to provide varying degrees of cover.
Their packages include; Lite, Standard, Advanced, and Premier. The lite covers up to £1,000, the standard is £1,200, the advanced policy covers up to £2,000, and the premier will give you £5,000 of cover insurance.
This covers your golf equipment against theft, loss and damage whilst travelling to and from the golf course, as well as during your round.
Additionally, each policy includes Public Liability insurance. This means you will be supplied with up to £5 million of insurance if you were to injure someone or damage property while playing golf.
Other perks of the packages include; hole-in-one insurance. There are hard enough to come by as it is. But, if you were to hit one the golf traditions state you must buy a drink for every golfer in the clubhouse afterwards.
That could set you back a pretty penny, so this covers a bill of up to £100.

We are all prone to a bad day on the course, just some are worse than others. If one of your offline shots were to cause damage to surrounding buildings or vehicles, it could burn a whole in your wallet.
That’s where Third-Party Property Damage comes in. It means you’ll be covered up to £2.5k if someone makes a claim against you. This covers accidents such as broken windows, dented cars, and other similar property damage.
The last component to these insurance packages is golf travel. We all like playing at our home courses, we wouldn’t be members if we didn’t. But, sometimes a change of scenery is needed.
If you were to seek a new golfing experience elsewhere, this automatically covers you to play golf in the UK and worldwide. The USA and Canada are included, providing you are a full-time UK resident.
Policies start from as little as £18.21 per year for a Lite package. Whereas they range up to £35.01 per year for a Premier package.
Prices for Standard policies start at £22.40 per year and £26.60 per year for Advanced.
