Volvik Condor X Golf Ball
A good short game is what makes the best players stand out and I was impressed with what I saw spin wise. It sit comfortably in the premium bracket. I was able to generate 7,500 rpm of spin with wedge shots which is what I would expect from a high-quality urethane ball – so plenty of stopping power.
I think most people will be interested in how it performs off the tee. Well with a driver it created excellent speed and a stable ball flight. It generated a ball speed of 160.5 mph and a low spin rate of around 2,100 rpm, which helped to generate a strong, penetrating trajectory.
Overall, I thought this was a very impressive golf ball. It certainly belongs in the premium, upper tier of golf balls on the market currently. My expectations for this golf ball weren’t anything crazy, so to find a golf ball that produces the ball speeds, spin rates, and flight characteristics of a more established tour offering, was a nice surprise.

It was with the driver in hand in which I found the Volvik Vivid Combi to shine the brightest. I found it to be a competent option for those looking for a golf ball that produces long distances and a strong ball flight. If that is your priority then you should really consider this as an option.
I was able to produce a 119 mph ball speed, 6,500 rpm spin, and a 162-yard carry with a seven iron. These are fairly respectable numbers for a golf ball of this calibre and price.
Overall, I do think Volvik deserve some credit for their innovation. The two-tone finish is clever, and the ball’s distance performance is genuinely solid. But golf balls live and die around the greens, and the Combi’s firm feel and low wedge spin ultimately cap its potential.
As a PGA coach, the main reason I like this golf ball for many of my clients is the alignment line. Golfers being able to line this golf ball up on the green, I think is invaluable. Anytime golfers are helped with alignment is a big plus as we all know the struggles a golfer can have on the greens.
I didn’t get the sense that the Volvik Vista 3 Prism 360 golf ball tries to compete directly with premium urethane balls, and that is to its credit.
Instead, it focuses on delivering consistent spin, reliable distance, and strong control for a much more accessible price.
The coloured stripe design will divide opinion, but its usefulness as an alignment tool cannot be ignored.

From around 50 yards, it carried close to 50 yards on average and generated just under 8,000 RPM of spin, which is impressive given that the benchmark for premium tour balls is around 8,500–10,000 RPM.

With a 7-iron, my average ball speed came in at 115 mph, with a carry of 157 yards. The spin rate of roughly 6,500 rpm was very solid, although the peak height of 87 feet was slightly on the low side.
Performance off the driver was consistent once struck from the centre. Early strikes were a little high on the face, producing lower spin and modest ball speed, but better strikes carried between 265 and 266 yards, with total distance reaching around 290 yards. While this is not the longest ball on the market, it is by no means short, and it offers solid all-round performance for a urethane ball at this price.
I think the Volvik UR3 Tour Soft is a standout value option for golfers looking to make the switch to a urethane-covered ball.

In terms of performance, I was impressed with this ball around the greens. With a wedge in hand, the Condor averaged around 7,500 rpm of spin, which is very close to the 8,000 to 8,500 rpm I get from the very best tour performance golf balls. This gave excellent stopping power and control around the greens.
With a 7-iron, I was able to carry the Condor carried 161 yards and finished at an average of 173 yards total. However, the spin was slightly lower than what I would want. I averaged 5,300 rpm compared to a more desirable 6,000 rpm, but it was consistent and reliable.
Off the driver, the Condor was particularly impressive. My ball speeds peaked at 154 miles per hour, carrying 267 yards and finishing close to 290 yards total. The driver spin averaged only 2,100 rpm, which is very low, but that low spin translated into longer and straighter drives.
