The TearDrop TD-5 putter is a refreshing addition to the putter market. I thought its forgiving design, standout alignment system, and solid feel made it a brilliant option for golfers seeking quality performance without a hefty price tag.

With its Roll Face technology and MOI-boosted weighting, this is a putter that really delivers. I think this is certainly one to look out for as more people become familiar with it.

The Teardrop TD-1 putter impressed me with its innovative Roll-Face technology, outstanding alignment aids, and classic blade design. I think it’s an excellent choice for golfers seeking precision and consistency in their putting, with a touch of elegance and craftsmanship.

While it may not be as widely available as more prominent brands, its performance is on par, if not superior, in many aspects. Ideal for those who value precision and classic styling in their short game.

The all black finish of this putter gives it a really classy look and makes it stand out. The bright alignment lines offer a bold contrast and make this really easy to line up.

This putter is a great option for mid to high handicap golfers who are wanting more forgiveness on the greens. I saw marked improvement in my distance control in particular.

This is definitely a putter I would put in play if I was looking to make a putter change.

TearDrop TD-5 Putter

5 star review
best teadrop putters 2025

On the greens, I found the TD-5 excelled in both short and long-range putting. The heavy sole and Roll Face technology contributed to a smooth roll even when my contact wasn’t perfect. The putter’s alignment system made short putts feel almost automatic, which I was a big fan of.

I think the TearDrop TD-5 is a more than solid option for golfers who are after an accomplished putter without the premium price tag. Its classic mallet design paired with modern innovations like the Roll Face and leading-edge alignment make it a standout in its category.

Despite being a relatively unknown name to many, TearDrop’s TD-5 delivers fantastic alignment support and golf ball roll consistency. Expect to see more of these on the greens as word gets out, this is a comeback worth watching.

Pros:

  • Consistent roll even on mishits
  • Excellent alignment system
  • Solid feel and sound

Cons:

  • None

The Teardrop TD-1 putter is a standout performer in the blade category, combining classic design with innovative roll technology. Its alignment features make it particularly appealing for golfers who struggle with setup and alignment, while the Roll-Face technology enhances roll consistency across all strike points. With its soft feel, quality craftsmanship, and strong alignment aids, the TD-1 is a compelling option for players seeking both style and substance.

I think the TD-1 is well worth considering for those who appreciate a classic blade look but want the modern benefits of enhanced alignment and roll performance. It is a testament to the brand’s commitment to making a successful comeback.

Pros:

  • Exceptional roll consistency across the face
  • Love the classic blade design
  • Soft feel

Cons:

  • Blade design may not suit those preferring mallet putters

Teardrop TD-7 Putter

5 star review
best teadrop putters 2025

I felt confident with the putter after only a few short putts. The ball seemed to roll nicely of the putter face and make a lovely sound. With how well balanced the head fells, I was able to hit the majority of the balls from the middle of the face. This meant I was also able to hit y puts on their intended line frequently. With the levels of forgiveness the putter has, it didn’t seem to matter if I hit the ball out of the middle or not, the results were similar.

Hitting your intended line with the TD-7 is also helped by Teardrop’s machined radial face design and grooved friction face.

The putter also comes with a nice thick grip and at purchase you can choose from three different varieties of SuperStroke grips or one of two Teardrop grips. I used the Tour 2.0, and it felt extremely comfortable in my hands, which I felt helped with the accuracy of my putts.

Pros:

  • Love the all black finish
  • Easy alignment
  • Great distance control

Cons:

  • None

Max Mcvittie

A bit of a late bloomer to the game of golf, Max fell in love with the sport when he attended Saturday coaching sessions down at his local golf club after being inspired by friends and family members.

Max has remained a member of Eden Golf Club in Carlisle for a number of years now as he looks to get his handicap down into single figures. Most of his golfing career has been spent battling a permanent slice off the tee, which has led to some ugly rounds.

Having studied at the University of Sunderland, Max is starting out his dream career in sports journalism. During his time at university, he picked up valuable work experience at Reach PLC, BBC Radio Cumbria and GiveMeSport, whilst also getting work published in the Teesside Live. He also spent time working at a local weekly newspaper, Eskdale and Liddesdale Advertiser, as a general news reporter partially covering some local sport just north of the border in Langholm.

Max has just started his journey with the NCG working as the assistant equipment editor. He looks forwarded to reviewing the latest golf equipment, taking up an interest in reviews when buying his first golf club, a Cleveland RTX wedge.

With his bag not going under too many changes throughout the last few years, Max carries an M3 driver, Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood, M2 hybrid, a set of M2 irons, Callaway Jaws wedges and a TaylorMade Spider putter. And yes, Max is a bit of a self-proclaimed TaylorMade fan boy.
