Favourite course of the year?
I can still picture my tee shots on the 2nd and 3rd when, for two brief moments, my golf lived up to the surroundings. The course remains peerless for me.
Place you are most jealous someone else played?
Royal Wimbledon. It’s one of the best courses in England I have never had the pleasure of visiting.
Place you most messed up?
Moortown. A win in the inaugural Sports Publications Summer Matchplay was within my grasp but I couldn’t get the job done.
Place you were most surprised by?
Painswick. I knew nothing about it but went on a recommendation and absolutely loved it.
Place you are going to get to next year?
The Machrie and Royal Portrush, both of which have been redesigned since my last visits.
