Who to back at the Wells Fargo Championship
Wells Fargo Championship: Keel’s top tip
The standout bet this week is Phil Mickelson at 28/1. The 47-year-old has been rejuvenated this year; perhaps he has been spurned on by Tiger’s comeback to the game?
Earlier in the year, he went 5-2-6 and then won at the WGC in Mexico, dispatching arguably the hottest player in the game at the time, Justin Thomas, in a play-off.
Lefty has had a few weeks off since his underwhelming 36th at The Masters and the hope is that he can get back to the sort of form he showed two months ago.
And where better to return than Quail Hollow? One could argue that only McIlroy has a better record around this track – Mickelson has played here 14 times; in that stretch, he’s missed the cut only once, racking up nine top-10 finishes, yet the win has proven elusive.
At 28/1, we should expect a good run for our money.
