Wales: Busy times at Carmarthen
Carmarthen was crowned the Welsh mixed foursome champions at St Mellons in Cardiff, to round off a successful summer for the club.
It was third time lucky for the team, who had been runners-up for the past two years.
The three pairs were unbeaten throughout the day and were comprised of Richard Thomas and Sue Convery, Alan Price and Lowri Thomas and Paul Davies with Julia Webb.
Two of Carmarthen’s junior members, Iestyn McAvoy and Jamie Dean, have been reselected for the GUW squads, while Megan Thomas was selected in her Wales age group.
Through the work of Sam Barton, the club has also attained ‘Insport’ Ribbon club accreditation through Disability Sport Wales.
