Who to back at the Valero Texas Open
Valero Texas Open betting: Keel’s top bet
Right at the head of the market we have Sergio Garcia and he is the undisputed class of this field. Next in line is Matt Kuchar, who has an abysmal win record, and then we have Charley Hoffman, a player that has obvious claims given his course record here, but the Californian never looks entirely convincing when he finds himself in contention.
Given that the AT&T Oaks Course was designed by Greg Norman with Garcia as a player consultant, this one looks fairly simple to call: back the favourite to win, and even if he only brings his B game, he should win.
If only all golf tournaments were this simple to call. I’m joking of course, but the Spaniard has a lot going in his favour heading into this week and he looks the best bet. As is normally the case in Texas, the wind is likely to blow and could get stronger than 20mph over the week. Name me a better wind player than Garcia in this field?
The other positive? Water hazards are only in play on two holes – let’s try and avoid dunking five in one of those, please Sergio?
Perhaps you should be considering one of these four players for your Fantasy Golf team?
Why it’s time to start getting excited about the Ryder Cup
Would you pick Poulter for the Ryder Cup?
I’m not a golf photographer – why am I taking pictures of your swing?
