The LPGA has revealed that the Solheim Cup qualifying process will change from next year.
The 2023 edition will take place the week before the Ryder Cup, the last two of which were pushed back a year due to the Covid pandemic, but after that the Solheim Cup will revert to its spot in even-numbered years.

The 18th Solheim Cup will take place at Finca Cortesin, near Malaga, Spain, from September 22-24, 2023. Suzann Pettersen and Stacy Lewis will host the European and American teams respectively.
2024 Solheim Cup qualifying process
Players will start accruing points at the 2023 Tournament of Champions, which kicks off the LPGA season in January, from when players finishing in the top 40 at official LPGA Tour competitions will earn points, with those points doubled at the five major championships. Then, in 2024, all points values will increase by 50 per cent.
At the end of the qualification period, the top seven players will in the standings will make the team. They will be joined by the top two players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings not already qualified, plus three captain’s picks.
The 19th Solheim Cup will be held at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, near the United States’ capital of Washington DC, from September 13-15, 2024. The team captains are yet to be confirmed.
