The St Anne’s Old Links trio of Chris Appleby, Pat Vickers and Jackie Halstead enjoyed a successful golf break in Barbados as part of a 12 strong European team.
With a lady selected from each of the handicap divisions, the three competed against a Rest of the World team in the Ryder Cup-style Virgin Atlantic Golf League Season 11 final.
With the secures tied at 6-6 going into the final day, the SAOL trio won their individual singles matches to contribute to the final score of ROW 9 Europe 15.
Twenty-four players came from all over the world, including Australia, USA and India, and the three SAOL ladies put their success down to the condition of the course this year, which enabled them to play their best and qualify for the event.
