Maiden victory for Migliozzi as Choi returns

Guido Migliozzi won his first European Tour title at the Kenya Open with a score of 16-under-par. Joe Hughes wraps up the action

Kenya Open Report: What happened at Karen Country Club?

A gutsy final round performance from Guido Migliozzi saw him claim his first European Tour title as he beat off challenges from the likes of Justin Harding and Adri Arnaus.

A round of 2-under-par on Sunday was enough for the Italian who had previously never had a top-10 finish on the Challenge or European Tour.

With two birdies on the back-nine, he played some solid golf down the stretch and it was almost a fairy tale ending as he almost holed out for an eagle on the 18th.

Harding, last week’s champion, again held the clubhouse lead, but this time his score 15-under-par wasn’t quite good enough.

Kenya Open Report: Talking points

Ho-Sung Choi tees it up

He’s become one of the most talked about golfers in recent times, largely thanks to his incredibly unique swing.

And this week, he walked the fairways of the European Tour for the first time since 2015.

It was brilliant to see him entertaining the crowds in Kenya but unfortunately his golf was not quite good enough to see him into the weekend.

The South Korean shot round of 73 and 77 over the first two days, leading to an overall score of 8-over-par.

His time spent at the event this week was well worth it though, it’s brilliant for the tour still doing their doing their bit to further raise the profile of the game on a global scale.

And, they managed to get him into a 14-club challenge video, too. Enjoy.

Cracking Kenyan crowds

Throughout the week, the event was brilliantly attended, and this shows that the tour’s decision to schedule a tournament in Kenya was a wise one.

The locals were treated to some exquisite golf and the 20 Kenyan players that teed it up didn’t disappoint, especially Simon Ngige who chipped in on the 18thhole to the delight of the gallery.

Sound on for this one…rattlesnake
