KLM Open betting tips and preview
At a triple-figure price, Justin Walters (100/1, 8 places) has to be backed to emulate his terrific effort here last year.
The South African fired rounds of 67, 65 and 67 after opening with a one-over-par 72 twelve months ago, and he comes into the week having made the cut in each of his last seven events.
The 37-year-old just hasn’t quite been able to get himself into contention, but the consistency is certainly there and it will only require a slight improvement with the putter to see him have a chance.
Finally, I’ll throw a dart at Walters’ compatriot, Jaco Van Zyl (250/1, 8 places).
The 39-year-old has struggled with injury over the past year, but he finally made his first cut of the season last week in the Alps and this course should suit the South African.
Going back to the Qatar link again, Van Zyl finished runner-up in that event last year and, interestingly, his best career finish came at the Turkish Airlines Open three years ago on the Montgomerie Maxx Royal course in Belek.
That, of course, is designed by Colin Montgomerie – just like The Dutch is.
