Greens team assemble! BTME returns to Harrogate
The turf industry is preparing to head to Harrogate for what promises to be the biggest-ever BTME event.
The event remains completely free for attendees, and this year hosts BIGGA have been supported by Club Car, which has become the association’s Education Supporter.
Club Car’s Dennis de Roos said: “The company advocates BIGGA’s commitment to the continuing professional development of its members and the ongoing support of excellence in golf course management throughout the greenkeeping profession.”
With cold weather forecast, early risers at the first two mornings of the exhibition will be able to enjoy complimentary bacon sandwiches and a hot drink, courtesy of Kubota.
‘The company advocates BIGGA’s commitment to continuing professional development’ Registration for the BTME is available online at www.btme.org.uk, which will allow attendees to the event to beat the queues.
BIGGA’s newest recruit, James Hutchinson, the associations sustainability executive, will be joining experts to discuss environmental issues and projects. There will also be the opportunity to sign up for OnCourse, the system which is the first step towards getting your facility recognised for Environmental Best Practice.
The exhibition begins on Sunday with the Continue to Learn programme, while the Turf Managers’ Conference will take place on Monday in the Royal Hall.
BBC presenter Naga Munchetty will host the BTME’s Welcome Celebration on Tuesday. The event promises to be a memorable evening toasting the efforts of greenkeepers over the past 12 months. Three BIGGA awards will be up for grabs, sponsored by Jacobsen, Pitchcare and GBR Technology.
Wednesday and Thursday see GolfBIC’s debut at BTME in conjunction with the UK Golf Course Owners Association and the Organisation of Golf and Range Operators. Also hosted by Munchetty, this will feature presentations, discussions and panel debates with industry experts, and a keynote address from inspirational speaker Hamish Taylor.
