The SLDR, which features a black crown, is still very much a secret in terms of technology, but it doesn’t take a genius to figure some of it out.
For a start, there is definitely a new way to adjust centre of gravity and manipulate ball flight. There is a rail on the sole of the club on which a weight slides (get it? Slider? SLDR?) into 16 different positions, allowing you to create either draw or fade bias.
Unlike the previous version of Moveable Weight Technology (MWT), which involved fiddly weights that were easily lost, this seems foolproof.

However, the slider bears a striking resemblance to the way Mizuno adjust weight on their better player drivers – Fast Track. What is different, though, is that Fast Track is positioned much closer to the outskirts of the clubhead.
The SLDR also seems to house a Flight Control Technology (FCT) hosel, which is used to adjust loft and lie on current TaylorMade drivers, and is stamped 460, clearly stating the size of the clubhead in cubic centimetres.
