Utilising multi-material construction found in the M1, the M2 delivers on maximum distance and forgiveness…

TaylorMade M2

TaylorMade have completed the M family with the introduction of the new M2 range.

In the M2 driver the Multi-Material construction is similar to that of the M1, and with the use of the carbon Composite Crown design in the new M2 driver the result is a significant decrease in overall crown weight and lower CG. The weight savings of 5g generates a remarkably hight trajectory with maximised forgiveness.
The combination of the carbon crown with titanium casting technology in the M2 driver has helped allow the CG to be moved into a position of simultaneous speed and forgiveness.

First impressions

Like the M1, the M2 driver head is designed with a classic club head shape and fast, aggressive aesthetics where the black carbon meets the white titanium. The design suits the eye of better players at address but delivers performance for all, with maximised aerodynamics and a low centre of gravity.
The structural changes in the design of the club include a lowered front face area with the inclusion of the traditional rounded face shape at address, as well as a raised front crown and sloping rear crown section to maximise the low CG.

The Technology

With forgiveness being the priority in the M2, TaylorMade have focused on three key performance features that deliver ball protection on shots struck off-centre; the inverted cone technology (ICT), a redesigned speed pocket and increased MOI (moment of inertia).

25020|c:520x330.img
The M2 driver utilises the ICT to increase the size of the high-COR area of the clubface. M2 also features a redesigned speed pocket which allows for greater face flexion compared to a more traditional rigid connection. The more flexibility, the greater energy transfer at impact and more protection of ball speed.
The centre of gravity (CG) in the M2 driver has been positioned low and slightly further back in the clubhead. The MOI in the driver are among the highest of any club TaylorMade have ever produced. Having increased MOI resists twisting at impact, which enables you to hit further and straighter even when you hit off-centre.

Personalisation

The 12 position loft sleep of the M2 driver provides up to four degrees of loft adjustment, and in addition to the Fujikura Pro shaft, TaylorMade will offer upwards of 30 additional premium shaft options at no upcharge.

The M2 driver is available on February 19th at a retail price of £329, with loft options of 9.5, 10.5 & 12 degrees.

M2 Fairway

Similar to the M2 driver, the multi-material carbon crown on the M2 fairway has created 5g of weight savings, allowing for an extremely low CG.

The shallow head delivers versatile playability from tee and the fairway. A new, fluted hosel design provides superior sound and feel without compromising distance. Overall, the M2 fairway is engineered for dominant performance, delivering exceptional distance and superior look and feel.
The M2 fairway is offered in five lofts- 15, 16.5, 18, 21 & 24 degrees, with a TaylorMade Reax 65 (S, X), 55 (R, M) or 45 (L) shaft and is priced at £199.

M2 Rescue

To complete the M2 Metalwood family, we have the introduction of the M2 rescue club. This rescue club has been designed to deliver effortless launch and maximum distance from anywhere on the course.

The redesigned open channel Speed Pocket creates a larger sweet spot for maximised distance. Aesthetically, the low profile shaping more closely mirrors the shaping of a fairway wood, which leads to a more confidence-inspiring, easy to hit product.
the M2 rescue is offered in four lofts: 19, 22, 25 & 28 degrees and is stocked with a TaylorMade Reax shaft.

The M2 metalwoods are all available from the 19th February 2016.
