The Leicestershire has appointed a head professional for the first time in more than 20 years.
PGA EuroPro Tour player Tim Stevens has taken over the role from Darren Jones and joins Leicestershire as it prepares to celebrate its 125th anniversary.
“The atmosphere at The Leicestershire is great,” said Stevens. “It is an exciting time to be joining the team here.
‘The atmosphere here is great’ “The 12th anniversary means my diary is full of dates, ranging from competitions for members to social events and coaching.”
Stevens began his professional career at Kedleston Park in Derbyshire underneath European Senior Tour pro Paul Wesselingh.
His playing career included two seasons on the PGA EuroPro Tour and a recent highlight came when he finished a close second on the PGA Lombard National Pro-Am at Gleneagles.
Stevens’ coaching record includes time spent as Derbyshire county couch, and the Derby native’s first assignment as a club professional was at Shirland.
