Dell Technologies Championship betting tips and preview
Charley Hoffman (125/1, 7 places) is currently set to miss out on next week’s BMW Championship as the American is ranked 75th in the FedEx Cup standings.
He’s had a pretty forgettable summer with plenty of top-20 finishes but he’s never really been able to get into contention.
But he returns to TPC Boston off the back of a solid week at Ridgewood Country Club and, being a former winner here at this course in 2010, he’ll have plenty of good memories and he’ll know that a good week will see him through the next two events.
At a triple-figure price, he appears to be a little underrated, especially for a player that is a proven winner and tends to relish the big events.
Finally, let’s throw a dart at Scott Piercy (300/1, 7 places) at huge odds.
Piercy’s form figures don’t really suggest a big week is imminent, but make no mistake, his ball striking has been more than solid in the past two tournaments and if he starts to make a few more putts, he could contend.
The 39-year-old knows how to mix it with the world’s best, finishing 2nd at the US Open two years ago, and he’s played fairly well here at TPC Boston in the past.
In six attempts, Piercy has made the cut five times with a top finish of 13th in 2013.
At 57th in the FedEx standings, he should make it through to next week, but he’d like to make sure with a solid week here.
