The new Amp Cell range can’t be missed

Cobra get colourful with Amp Cell drivers

WHEN it comes to adjustability and customisation, Cobra’s new AMP Cell drivers have just raised the bar.

Not only can you adjust the loft up to three degrees, you can also choose from four different colours of head. It is available in blue, red, silver and, of course, Rickie Fowler’s trademark orange. And once you have settled on the all-important styling, a new adjustable hosel design allows you to choose from four different lofts ranging from 8.5 to 11.5˚. You can also set the club to have a draw-biased face angle in the 9.5 and 10.5˚ settings.

The means there is only one driver in each model in terms of loft – you then customise it to suit.

While there are plenty of white drivers currently on the market, including Cobra’s own white ZL Encore, there is nothing currently in any other colour apart from black.

The 460cc Amp Cell driver is also available in a Pro version in a choice of two colours – orange and silver. The lofts on the 440cc AMP Cell Pro can range from 7.5 to 10.5, with a fade-biased setting available in the 8.5 and 9.5 settings.

The really clever bit is that no matter how you set the hosel, according to Cobra, the sole has been designed to sit squarely at address.

It is available in blue, red, silver and, of course, Rickie Fowler’s trademark orange.
“The Amp Cell driver offers golfers the adjustability, innovation, customization and choice they want but have not been able to get – until now,” said Bob Philion, president. “We are taking adjustability to another level with our MyFly technology, offering 6 different loft/trajectory settings golfers can change to adapt to their swing or playing conditions. The technology combined with the color choice reaffirms Cobra’s positioning as a performance driven brand infusing more joy into the game.”

The driver can be adjusted to the following lofts with a simple wrench. Choose from 8.5°, 9.5°, 9.5° Draw, 10.5°, 10.5° Draw and 11.5°.

This means you can customise your driver based on swing speed (higher lofts for slower swing speeds and lower lofts for faster swing speeds), weather (lower lofts to bring ball flight down on windy days) and course conditions (higher lofts for more carry).

The Amp Cell is available in both right and left-handed models with My Fly technology which allows any driver you purchase to be adjusted from 8.5° to 11.5° loft settings, including 9.5° and 10.5° draw settings. It comes with a Fujikura Fuel shaft.

The Cobra Amp Cell Pro is available in both right and left-handed models with My Fly technology which allows any driver you purchase to be adjusted from 7.5° to 10.5° loft settings, including 8.5° and 9.5° fade settings. It comes with a MRC Kurokage shaft.

The Amp Cell Offset is available in 10.5° in both right-hand and left-hand models, and also in a right-handed 11.5° model, with an MRC Cobra Amp shaft.

SRPs: Amp Cell £249; Amp Cell Pro £319; Amp Cell Offset £219
