Who to back at the AT&T Byron Nelson
AT&T Byron Nelson betting: Keel’s top tip
A treeless links design sparks memories of the 2015 US Open at Chambers Bay. Remember who was near the top there but hit onto the train track to end his chances of winning?
Yep, Branden Grace. The South African ticks all the boxes this week and has to be backed at around the 25/1 mark.
There are few better wind players in the field, and the firm nature of the fairways will suit the low-running ball flight of Grace.
He’s a proven worldwide winner, and while his season hasn’t been a great one so far, there was plenty of promise in his performance last week at the Players Championship.
He opened with a 69 but toppled down to 46th by the end of the week, but he hit the 10th most greens in regulation in the field – a stark improvement on recent starts.
It’s just a case of everything coming together for him to contend again, as he hasn’t missed a cut all season. For Grace, if we see a noticeable improvement with the putter, he’ll likely be up there on Sunday.
