Andalucia Valderrama Masters betting tips and preview
Edoardo Molinari (110/1, 6 places) perhaps. The older Molinari brother has not enjoyed the best results here at Valderrama, but the Italian has spoke of his love for this particular venue, and more importantly, tough layouts.
Molinari is at his best on tree-lined courses – indeed, he tweeted this week that it is “the best course in Continental Europe”. Think back to last year’s Trophee Hassan II where he won his third European Tour title in the middle of an awful run of form. Royal Golf Dar Es Salam is a classic tight layout where it is absolutely essential to keep the ball out of trouble.
Molinari has missed 13 cuts this year, but he’s made three of his last four with top-24 finishes in his last two events, and he hit the fourth most fairways in the field last week at Walton Heath.
Oliver Farr (250/1, 7 places) may also be worth chancing at big odds.
The Welshman secured his second best ever finish on the European Tour last week as he entered the tournament off the back of four straight missed cuts.
It was a timely return to form for Farr, but despite that, he still has a lot of work left to do if he is to keep his card next year.
And his typically accurate game could lend itself well to Valderrama. It’s a demanding ask on his course debut, but Chesters was in a similar position last year and he was able to post a 12th place finish – could Farr do the same?
