It’s that glorious time of year again. The start of April brings about the Masters Tournament, but can you name all of the winners at Augusta National Golf Club in our quiz?
The Masters is the only major tournament which is held at the same venue each year, with Augusta National playing host since its inception in 1934.
The famous Green Jacket was first awarded to the victor of the Masters 15 years after, and has become one of the staples of the tournament’s history.
Over the years, there have been 56 different champions, but it took until 1961 for the first non-American champion of the competition.
Since the turn of the 21st Century, players from eight different nationalities have been victorious and had the honour of donning the Green Jacket.
Everyone wants to be a Masters champion. Before they won it, Tiger Woods, Gene Sarazen, Nick Faldo, Jack Nicklaus, Scottie Scheffler, Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, and Byron Nelson all wanted to be a Masters champion.
It is one of the greatest achievements in the game, but who else can you think of? It’s the obscure, one-time champions that perhaps don’t come to your mind as quickly as the names above.
