April 6, 1986 was the date that the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) began, and since then, the OWGR has been the definitive answer as to who the best players in the world are.
In the almost-four decade history of the OWGR, only 25 men have ever climbed to the summit and been able to say they have been the best player in the world.
Those 25 players hail from ten different nations, with the likes of England, Northern Ireland, Spain and the United States all featuring.
