As we approach the end of the season, the FedEx St Jude Championship takes centre stage as the first event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs gets underway.

The tour will visit TPC Southwind, as it has since 2022, for the first of three playoff events. The BMW Championship will follow, and then the Tour Championship at East Lake is the season finale.

TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee was established in 1988 and has been a PGA Tour venue since 1989. It used to hold what was called the FedEx St Jude Classic and the WGC FedEx St Jude Invitational.

Japanese star Hideki Matsuyama is the defending champion after beating Viktor Hovland and Xander Schauffele by two shots in 2024.

How to qualify for FedEx St Jude Championship

The criteria for this event are simple. Once the Wyndham Championship is over, which is the last event of the regular season, the top 70 in the FedEx Cup rankings make it to Memphis.

Is there a cut at the FedEx St Jude Championship?

No, there isn’t. In 2024, all 70 players play all four rounds in the hope they can move into the top 50 of the FedEx Cup rankings, which would see them into the BMW Championship.
