Following on from two double-header weeks, the PGA Tour returns to just one event this weekend, with the 3M Open taking centre stage.

This will be the sixth edition of the tournament, after it debuted in 2019. That makes it one of the youngest tournaments on the PGA Tour.

All five previous editions have been won by American golfers, with Lee Hodges entering the event as the reigning champion after winning by seven strokes last year.

The 3M Open replaced the 3M Championship, which was previously a PGA Tour Champions event for 26 years, and was held at TPC Twin Cities since 2001.

As always, the event will be held at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota, the venue that has hosted every edition of the tournament to date.

Frequently Asked Questions about the 3M Open

When and where will the 3M Open take place?

The 2024 edition of the 3M Open will take place between July 25-28. The event will be held at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota – the venue that has hosted the tournament since its inauguration in 2019.

Who won last season’s tournament?

American Lee Hodges was the victor at last year’s 3M Open, winning by a margin of seven shots from runners up Martin Laird, J.T. Poston and Kevin Streelman. A new tournament scoring record of 24-under secured him a wire-to-wire title and his first PGA Tour victory.

What is the history around the 3M Open?

The 3M Open is a relatively new tournament, which was announced by the PGA Tour in 2018, and succeeded the 3M Champions event which debuted back in 1993 as the Burnet Senior Classic.

The tournament then relocated to TPC Twin Cities 2001, whereby 3M became the sponsor. Golf icon, Arnold Palmer designed the course, with the help of the former number one ranked golfer and 1966 Open champion, Tom Lehman.

Five Americans have lifted the trophy so far, with Matthew Wolff winning the inaugural event back in 2019, holding off Bryson DeChambeau and Collin Morikawa to secure the title by one stroke.

How do golfers qualify to play in Minnesota?
