The Women’s PGA Championship has travelled around the country during its 70-decade history, but which courses have been host venues of the tournament?
The tournament dates back to 1955, and since then, 14 different states have played host to the competition, one of five majors on the women’s calendar.
Much like the venues for the men’s version of the tournament and the US Women’s Open, the Women’s PGA Championship has been held at the best courses the United States has to offer.
Since the PGA of America took the reins of the tournament in 2015, the event has visited the likes of Baltusrol, Congressional and Hazeltine National.
It was held at Sahalee Country Club in 2024, which Amy Yang won by three shots ahead of Jin Young Ko, Lydia Ko and Miyu Yamashita. Sahalee hosted the PGA Championship in 1998, the US Senior Open in 2010 and it also held the Women’s PGA for the first time in 2016 when Brooke Henderson beat Lydia Ko in a playoff.
It has been held in Ohio and Maryland, which is the joint-most in the event’s history. It was held in Washington in 2024, which was only the second time the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship has visited that state.
PGA Frisco is the 2025 venue and is the PGA of America’s new home in Texas. This event will also be held at PGA Frisco in 2031, which is the furthest venue down the line which has been booked so far.
