LIV Deal for Stuburt… Playing for Three Teams?

LIV Golf has made another big signing! But it isn’t a player this time…

Stuburt have made history by becoming the first apparel brand to sign a deal with multiple LIV Golf teams.

Fireballs GC, Stinger GC and Torque GC are the three teams that will wear the British brand’s clothing following the multi-year deal being signed.

The apparel brand has been involved in golf for many years, with the Northern Irish duo of Darren Clarke and Graeme McDowell both winning major championships while donning Stuburt gear.

“Stuburt has an incredible heritage, and we are delighted to be building on that as we announce these partnerships today,” said Stuburt’s Managing Director, Graeme Stevens.

“Over the last two years, we have implemented a growth strategy for the Stuburt brand that has enabled us to reach this point and see our products worn by some of the best players in the world.

“Their response to the product range has been fantastic and their input has been incredibly valuable. We are excited to see how these partnerships develop over the coming years and look forward to introducing golf fans around the world to our brand and product range.”

The captains of the three teams involved in the deal – Sergio Garcia, Louis Oosthuizen and Joaquin Niemann – worked closely with the design teams at Stuburt to make each team’s designs bespoke.

They teams have already been seen wearing Stuburt apparel through the first four events of the 2024 LIV Golf League campaign.

Joaquin Niemann, Torque GC captain, said “We want our fans to feel closer to us, and this partnership will allow them to do that when we release our on-course kits this summer. As the Latin American team, we have fans in Mexico, Chile, Colombia and all across Central and South America, so this is a very exciting opportunity for Torque to continue building its global brand presence.”

Fireballs GC skipper Sergio Garcia said: “The ability to co-design and infuse our team DNA into the Stuburt products was key to ensuring our fans were wearing our heart on their sleeve. Stuburt has been an incredible partner throughout this process as we have developed our very first apparel line, and we can’t wait to see fans in our gear repping Fireballs GC across the world.”

Stuburt LIV deal Oosthuizen

Louis Oosthuizen, captain of Stinger GC, said: “When choosing an apparel partner, it was very important for us to choose a company that was able to deliver to our fans in South Africa. As the only LIV Golf team representing the continent of Africa, Stuburt’s global distribution allows our fans to proudly represent who they are.”

Fans of the three teams will soon be able to purchase their Stuburt gear online at www.stuburt.com, with the apparel lines going live through the summer. They will also be on sale at LIV events, with competitions still to be played in Australia, Singapore, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States over the rest of the 2024 season.

Mention a European country, and Matt will tell you which resorts make the National Club Golfer Top 100s: European Resorts list. He might even throw in who designed the golf course and how many rooms the hotel has got at each one…

Matt got into the game of golf from a young age, following his old man to the local golf club. He fell for the sport, and now can’t seem to go a day without thinking about how to improve his game (Thanks Dad!). Matt has been a member of Howley Hall GC in Leeds since 2020, and is just about managing to maintain a single-figure handicap. He likes to remind people that he once broke 75, but won’t tell people that it was on a shortened course during the winter.

He moved to Leeds after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Honours degree in Sports Journalism. Matt joined NCG after almost five years travelling the world with the Professional Squash Association, working on events in all four corners of the globe.

Matt currently plays a Cobra King LTDx driver and RadSpeed 3-wood. TaylorMade monopolise the rest of his bag, with a SIM UDI, M5 irons and both Milled Grind and HI-TOE wedges, along with a Monza Redline putter. He uses a Vice Pro Plus golf ball, because he’s a bit different…

Away from golf, Matt is a Manchester United fan, and a keen runner, having ran the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon (his first and possibly last), in May 2023.
