British Masters Report
Eddie Pepperell was victorious on home soil at the Sky Sports British Masters, winning by two shots from Sweden’s Alexander Bjork on the Old Course at Walton Heath.
Pepperell already had a victory to his name in 2018 having won the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters in February. He came into the final round at Walton Heath holding a three-shot lead.
The Englishman’s final round of level par was enough to secure the victory in tough conditions, where 9-under was the winning score for the week.
The three men who started the day in 2nd all fell away. Jordan Smith (+1), Julian Suri (+2) and Julien Guerrier (+6) all had bad days, with the Frenchman dropping out of the top 20 with his final round.
A 1-under last round on Sunday saw Alexander Bjork move into the runners-up spot, with Australian Lucas Herbert finished in T3 alongside Smith at 5-under, four shots back from the winner.
Five more Englishmen – in Sam Horsfield, Tom Lewis, Justin Rose, Andy Sullivan and Tommy Fleetwood – all finished in the top 10 on home soil.
