Matt Wallace caught unleashing foul-mouthed rant at caddie

It’s not the first time the Englishman has lost his temper on the golf course

Matt Wallace is known to sometimes let his fiery side out, and we saw it again during the third-round of the Valspar Championship after a clip of the Englishman and his caddie Sam Bernard went viral.

On the 18th hole of Innisbrook’s Copperhead course, Wallace’s ball was on a cart path and he wanted to play it from the path, but his caddie thought differently.

Bernard was keen for his boss to take a drop to the right of the path, which apparently disrupted the four-time DP World Tour winner’s rhythm.

Footage shows Wallace and Bernard in a heated argument after the golfer hit the shot from the path short of the green. It doesn’t take too much lip-reading expertise to work out he tells his bagman to “shut the f*** up”.

This is why players need to be mic’d up!

But all is well – for now. NBC’s on-course reporter Cara Banks said she caught up with the pair after the round.

“I can confirm that the partnership is all well,” she said. “They will be back together [for Sunday’s final round]. Matt was simply frustrated after his bogey on 17 and hitting that errant drive on 18. He was frustrated that Sam questioned whether or not he should take a drop before that second shot.”

He went on to make par and card a 70. He is just three shots behind Adam Schenk with 18 holes remaining in Florida on an exciting leaderboard including Jordan Spieth and Tommy Fleetwood.

We have been here before with Wallace, who is no stranger to a strong selection of words towards his caddie…

He aimed an outburst toward his former looper Dave McNeill at the 2019 BMW International Open for which he was heavily criticised.

He’s also been known to toss a club or two, with the 18th green at Hillside feeling the wrath of his putter during the 2019 British Masters, while there were club-tossing antics two years later at the Wales Open..

If you didn’t know already, there’s never a dull moment when watching “Mike” Wallace play golf.
