Der Oschberghof Overview | NCG Top 100s: European Golf Resorts

Two 18-Hole Courses

Der Oschberghof is one of several venues on the NCG Top 100 European Golf Resorts list to be the proud host of two 18-hole golf courses. The Old Course is the original 18-hole lay-out at Der Oschberghof, with the East Course being the younger sibling, and just a few years old.

The Old Course
The Old Course at Der Oschberghof has been around for six decades, having been first opened in 1975. Christoph Stadler, a world-renowned golf course architect, came in with a redesign in 2017, renovating the golf course to make it even more spectacular.

There are four big water hazards throughout the course, along with the Pfohrbach Creek, which itself crosses through four more fairways. From the Championship tees, the Old Course at Der Oschberghof measures out at more than 7,000 yards, making it a very tough test.

The East Course
At the same time as the Old Course was opened following its redesign, the East Course also opened at Der Oschberghof. The East is much shorter than the Old, at just 6,250 yards, but it is not without its challenges.

The open lay-out of the course allows for slightly more errant play, but there are still trees and hedges to block golfers out if they are too wild from the tee. The East Course has six water hazards across eight holes, while the Pfohrbach Creek also comes into play on the East, cutting across five more fairways.

Der Oschberghof Golf Academy

The Der Oschberghof Golf Academy is there to help golfers of all ages and abilities to improve their games. There is a stunning driving range with both heated matted bays and grass tees to allow practice in all conditions. The Golf Academy also has two bays with TrackMan technology to allow guests to work with the tech to learn their swings, play games and more.

The Academy also is also the home to a short game area with putting green, chipping green and a couple of practice bunkers, to allow golfers to get better at those dreaded short sand shots as well.

Der Oschberghof also has a 9-hole Academy Course. The course is sponsored by Mercedes-Benz and has some small elevation changes throughout. It is only 2,700 yards long, and like the two 18-hole courses, there are still some water hazards to watch out for on the Academy Course.

The four-strong team of PGA-qualified professionals - Philipp Klopper, Igor Brandstaetter, Katharina Aberle and Paul Ketterer are on hand to provide golfers of all abilities with coaching and tuition.
