Callaway Epic Forged irons are here, but how fast are they?
Callaway Epic Forged irons review: NCG Verdict
First off this is a great looking golf club, the shaping means it sits really nicely behind the ball, in fact you wouldn’t really believe this iron sits in the game improvement category.
The strike and feel off the face was really solid, I got great turf interaction and the sound off the face was also really nice.
I was generating more distance than with my current irons. This is to be expected with the technology in these irons to increase ball speed such as the 360 cup face. I did find, other than on complete mis-strikes, my distance control was very consistent providing a small front to back dispersion.
I found the trajectory and control of launch in these irons particularly impressive. I was worried they would launch too high resulting in lack of control but this wasn’t the case at all.
Overall I really enjoyed testing this clubs and was really impressed across the board with the speed and high levels of feel.
