Wilson Launch Pad: The technology
The Wilson Launch Pad range are super game improvement offerings, so how are the designed to improve your game?
The full range includes driver, fairway woods, fybrids (that’s a fairway wood-hybrid combo), hybrids and irons all designed to be slice-combatting and to provide consistent gapping for every player. The clubs’ design ensures that club face contact propels the ball on a high trajectory consistently for greater distance carry.
The Launch Pad driver is one of the lightest offerings on the market. It features the same Peak Kinetic Response face as we see in the Wilson D9 driver. This means tour-proven geometry and increased ball speed across the entire club face.
The closed face helps to straighten out a slice. This is disguised at address thanks to an increased buldge radius designed and offset hosel transition. It is also set 2° upright to further reduce that left-to-right shot shape.
“Since 68% of all shots hit by average handicap players are on the toe half of the face, we’ve increased the face area by more than 5% compared to the original Launch Pad and the test results vindicate that modification”
Jon Pergande, Manager of Golf Club Innovation, Wilson Golf
The fairway woods have the same ultra-lightweight clubhead and shaft as the driver for effortless swinging. There are also the options of a 4 (22.5°) and 5 (25.5°) hybrid and a stronger lofted fybrid (19.5°) before you make the transition to the hybrid irons.
