Want to bomb it like the best? These are the longest drivers of 2022
Longest drivers: The results
4. Cobra LTDx LS
Perhaps the less forgiving nature of this club hurt me here. I found the spin and launch slightly on the high side which affected my overall distance. Nonetheless still a pretty good showing from Cobra – especially as it’s at least £100 cheaper than its three rivals in this test.
Average carry distance: 230.2 yards
Average clubhead speed: 95.2 mph
Average ball speed: 137.7 mph
Average spin: 3,195 rpm
3. TaylorMade Stealth
The shaping of the TaylorMade Stealth really helped me drive up my swing speed. I clocked my fastest clubhead speed of the test with this driver up at 97.5 mph. However I would definitely need a fitting to find a way to reduce spin and launch angle if I was going to put this in play as these numbers jumped up compared to the SIM2 Max.
Average carry distance: 235.7 yards
Average clubhead speed: 97 mph
Average ball speed: 139.6 mph
Average spin: 3,319 rpm
2. Callaway Rogue ST Max
Although I hit my longest ball of the test with the Callaway, its average distance was two yards shy of taking the title. It was interesting to see such a forgiving driver do so well in terms of carry distance.
Average carry distance: 238.4 yards
Average clubspeed: 94.4 mph
Average ball speed: 139.7 mph
Average spin: 2,657 rpm
1. Titleist TSi3
The Titleist TSi3 produced some incredibly long drives and also had a really consistent shot shape. My longest shot carried 245.1 yards, and my front to back dispersion was just nine yards. That’s some seriously consistent distance.
Average carry distance: 240.8 yards
Average clubhead speed: 95.7 mph
Average ball speed: 139.6 mph
Average spin: 2,539 rpm
