Callaway Apex irons: Everything you need to know!

What’s new? How much does it cost? And how does it perform? Hannah Holden brings you the low down on the new Callaway Apex range

Callaway’s Apex line is all about the better player who hold their equipment to the highest standard. These have been crafted with insight from the best players in the world to make sure every little detail is perfect. So let’s take a look at what they’ve come up with…

Callaway Apex Pro ’24

This is Callaway’s main player’s iron. It is designed to deliver total performance, they offer precision and feel but also some added distance for players who require that. These really bridge the gap between tour and club golf the most as they are suited for a wider variety of golfers.

Callaway has used a hollow body construction with a forged face for the first time ever in an Apex iron. This allows the face to flex more for faster ball speeds but still delivers a soft feel, especially with the help of urethane microspheres to dampen any unwanted vibrations.

The black section on the back of the club head is a MIM back weight. This can be adjusted in a fitting to help dial in swing weight.

Callaway Apex CB ’24

The CBs are designed for tour pros and elite ball stikers. This is a tour cavity back designed for precision, feel, shot-making and workability.

These irons are forged in a 5-step process from 1025 carbon steel to make them have that butter-soft feel that better players prefer. The body and face are one-piece forged with MIM weights placed strategically in the toe for more workability.

Callaway Apex MB

The MB irons are designed for the best ball strikers in the game who are looking for a high level of performance in terms of workability, turf interaction and feel.

The body and face of this iron are one-piece forged in a proprietary forging process to create the purest feeling iron possible.

The set features progressive CG, meaning the centre of gravity changes throughout the set relative to what flight characteristics are needed. The CG is lower in the long irons to help players hit the ball higher and get the ball to stop on the greens quicker. The short irons have a higher CG to bring down trajectory and add spin for more control.

The irons feature a dual chamfer on the leading edge to help the iron cut through the turf more efficiently. There is also a trailing edge chamfer which provides relief from the turf after contact to improve feel.

Callaway Apex UT ’24

The UT is designed to be powerful and deliver exceptional distance whilst also staying a workable option off the tee. It can be used as both a driving iron and a long iron replacement.

It has a slightly more compact shape than its predecessor, including a shallower face to promote a higher launch.

The key design feature is a dynamic sole design with a pre-worn leading edge which cuts through the turf easier. It also has trailing edge relief to ensure a clean exit. The result is an iron that maintains speed through the turf allowing for consistent contact.

All the irons are designed to be used in any combination with other models to create your perfect combo set.

Callaway Apex UW

The Apex utility wood is the go-to hybrid option for the best players on tour. Its unique profile offers the launch and distance benefits of a high-lofted fairway wood and the versatility of a hybrid.

Callaway Apex UW

Inside the club head is an artificial intelligence designed Batwing structure. This is metal inside the club which stiffens the perimeter of the body, allowing the club face to flex more, giving you faster ball speeds and more carry distance.

The club head shaping was designed with feedback from tour pros. They wanted a compact profile to allow for shot shaping and control. Club lengths are set between that of a traditional fairway wood and hybrid, adding versatility while keeping playability.

Callaway Apex UW

The centre of gravity is precisely positioned in a neutral location for an exceptional combination
of high launch, steeper landing angles, consistent spin characteristics and reduced draw bias.
