How does the Penguin Heritage Colour Block golf hoodie review perform? Matt Chivers took to the golf course wearing the product to find out

Some golfers might not feel comfortable wearing a hoodie on the course, but that could all change with the Penguin Heritage Colour Block golf hoodie.
The Penguin Heritage Colour Block golf hoodie has quickly become one of my favourite items of clothing with its soft, lightweight feel and striking colour scheme.
PROS
CONS
When I initially removed the hoodie from the packaging, I immediately took to the Black Iris Bijou Heather colour scheme.
The combination of dark blue and light blue, along with the Original Penguin symbol on the left breast, should prove to be popular this summer.
This isn’t your usual golf hoodie designed to battle the elements. The stitch-like Cotton and Coolmax Polyester fabric are very soft and comforting.
When first picking up the hoodie from the bag, it was very light and felt like a knitted jumper you could get as a Christmas present.
However, unlike the Christmas present that inevitably gets thrown to the bottom of your wardrobe, this hoodie should take pride of place and hang with the rest of your favourite golf clothing.
Although I take a large with virtually every piece of clothing I own, I was able to slip into this in a medium.
This adds to the versatility of this product as soon as I put it on. It is a solid design and colour scheme that you can’t really go wrong with if you’re willing to brave a hoodie on the golf course.
I am certainly a newcomer to this new trend of golf clothing that’s popping up in the professional and amateur spheres, but this Penguin hoodie helped to break the ice.
The Penguin Heritage Colour Block golf hoodie performed as I expected it would after first pulling it over my head.
The Long Sleeve style adds to the versatility in sizes and this is something you must consider before making your purchase.
The fabric is stretchy and the hoodie comes with a ribbed collar and stamped logo which adds to a clean and smart look.

The stretch fabric allows for maximum freedom of movement and no part of this hoodie restricts your movement or feels tight.
Some golfers could possibly prefer a hoodie in which they can tighten the hood. This aspect is missing, but from my perspective, this didn’t affect the enjoyment I took from wearing it.
I feel the Heritage Colour Block golf hoodie is typical of Penguin’s ethos in relaxation. The brand produces clothing that makes you feel comfortable and in control on the golf course.
COOLMAX technology is described as “a family of Polyester fibres” that help you “beat the heat.” The hoodie is made with cooling technology and moisture-wicking material.
Having worn the item in hot weather, I certainly experienced this technology first-hand. The layer wasn’t heavy with a very thin and lightweight construction.
It is safe to say this golf hoodie can be worn in almost any context. It wouldn’t look out of place on a day out, at a sports event or virtually any social occasion.
With summer approaching, it is the perfect alternative to a jacket or coat due to its thin, cooling nature.
It is worth noting the fabric doesn’t feel entirely rainproof, and some of the stitches can come loose after a few days of use.
Nonetheless, these are only small blemishes on what is a faultless golf hoodie. Its use off the golf course just adds to its versatility.
