The WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone is a co-sanctioned event between the PGA and European Tour so there’s only one tournament to focus your attention on this week from a Fantasy Golf perspective.
It’s a bit of shame as we’ve been on a roll with our European Tour tips, picking out Tyrrell Hatton 45/1 (third) and Anirban Lahiri 80/1 (fifth) at the Omega European Masters and then Robert Karlsson 80/1 (second) at the Paul Lawrie Match Play.
Anyway, I think it is quite hard to find an outsider in a high-class field such as this.

Rory McIlroy is the defending champion but is still unfit to play and it is looking unlikely he will be able to defend his US PGA Championship title the following week.
But all the other big guns are in action including world number two Jordan Spieth.
Spieth 11/2, Jason Day 14/1 and Dustin Johnson 14/1 are the favourites with the bookmakers.
Looking at the past winners of the event, no one has ever really come out of left-field to take the trophy.
It’s a notoriously difficult course that suits those who are long off the tee.
But there are so many players who hit the ball miles so I’m not too sure that narrows it down.
I expect the winner to be a big name so have picked out five players from the ’top drawer’ while avoiding the three favourites.
Henrik Stenson 25/1 – A player who is well-suited to this course and has been one of the most consistent performers over the past 12 months. Due a big win.
Sergio Garcia 28/1 – Looked in good touch in the final round of The Open and narrowly lost out to McIlroy at Firestone 12 months ago.
Adam Scott 16/1 – Gradually returning to being the force he was 18 months ago. Consistent of late and has a good record around this track.
Justin Rose 16/1 – Rarely out of form, had a solid result last week and was in a tie for fourth at this event last year.
Rickie Fowler 16/1 – Another who is finding some form and was also in the top 10 last time out.
If you really want an outsider to back then JB Holmes at 100/1 is about as good value as you’ll find in three figures and Branden Grace at 75/1 seems reasonable value to me.
