WITB: Tommy Fleetwood – Abu Dhabi Championship
Tommy Fleetwood kicked off 2018 in exactly the same fashion as 2017 with a win at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
He went on to win the Race to Dubai so must be looking forward to what could be a massive year with an inevitable Ryder Cup debut on the horizon.
Fleetwood is a free agent when it comes to his clubs and he is one of very few former Nike staffers who still has their gear in the bag.
He switched to a Titleist 917 driver ahead of the Dunhill Links last year but has now opted for the new TaylorMade M3 – complete with Twist Face technology.

We also saw players such as Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Ross Fisher – who Fleetwood beat by two shots at Abu Dhabi Golf Club – put the M3 into play.
With Garcia grabbing his maiden with the new Callaway Rogue Sub Zero driver this weekend, the battle for driver supremacy is well underway.

Fleetwood still relies on his Nike Vapor Fly fairway woods and VR Forged/Pro irons which does beg the question over what he will use when these wear out?
The Englishman had used the Callaway Mack Daddy Forged wedges for most of 2017 but has now switched into the brand new Mack Daddy 4 models.
A key piece of equipment during Fleetwood’s rise up the world rankings has been the Titleist Pro V1x golf ball.
So will one of the big brands try and tie Fleetwood down to a deal in 2018 or will he remain a free agent?
Well one school of though would be that if it ain’t broke… you know the rest.
