Quick 9: Best Tiger Woods reactions

From his best club twirls to THAT famous point at the PGA Championship. NCG looks back at some fun Tiger moments

Tiger Woods makes another eagerly anticipated return at the Hero World Challenge on 30th November alongside the likes of Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.

Golf fans have been craving for some GOAT action on their screens for well over 10 months so what else could be better to suppress your Tiger appetite.

US Open 2008

Requiring a birdie on the last to force a play-off. The former world number one didn’t disappoint with the putt… or the celebration!

2000 PGA Championship

En route to a play-off victory that secured back-to-back PGA Championship titles, Tiger couldn’t resist showing off as he drained putts from all over the greens to keep his title hopes alive.

2009 Presidents Cup

When the pressure was on Tiger, as always, delivered.

Woods fired a 4-iron into the final green during a foursomes match against Mike Weir and Tim Clark which was A/S, yes, you know what’s coming next… a club twirl and the famous stare followed.

Needless to say there was only one place it was heading.

2001 Players Championship

“Better than most.”

It was another to add to the growing memorable moments on Sawgrass’ island green. Tiger holed a monster putt to send the fans on the banks crazy…

2008 Arnold Palmer Invitational

Holing a putt on the last hole of a tournament to win it for a record fifth time must be something special… well, we guess only Tiger would know.

2009 Arnold Palmer Invitational

Tiger and Bay Hill’s 18th green became an iconic location for celebrations throughout his career. A birdie was required to win the 2009 event.

As the daylight disappeared, the 14-time Major champion holed a putt that sparked mad celebrations even for him.

1997 Phoenix Open

Who can forget this one?

As Tiger was propelling himself to golfing fame he only went and carded himself a hole-in-one on Scottsdale’s famous 16th hole.

You wouldn’t have wanted to be the one clearing up after that…

2006 Accenture Match Play

“Anything can happen, especially where he’s hitting it.”

Yeah, right…

Stephen Ames, lesson learned, NEVER upset Tiger. A 9&8 pummeling followed and those club twirls made the domination even more satisfying.

2008 US Open

A little different to the fist pumps and high fives.

You can’t help but laugh at Tiger’s reaction as his over hit chip shot somehow finds the bottom of the cup.

Honourable mention…

We tried to have variety with our choices and try not to sway away from the ‘usual’ Tiger moments.

If you were wondering where the famous celebration from 2005 is then here it is…

Matthew Beedle

National Club Golfer and National Club Golfer magazine

Matthew has been playing golf since he was around 13 and took up the game at a local nine-hole municipal course with his friends before joining Pontefract & District Golf Club just over the hedge.

Still a member of Pontefract with a handicap of 3, he currently sits on the board of directors to help with digital and marketing initiatives in order to improve membership and visitor income.

Matthew graduated university with a First Class in Sports Journalism from Leeds Trinity University and has been working in the golf industry since graduating.

NCG’s social media & marketing manager, Matthew’s main job role is to increase website traffic to the National Club Golfer website via our email and social media channels as well as driving entries to grow our NCG Top 100s Tour events amongst other tasks.

Not one to change his equipment too often, Matthew currently plays the TaylorMade M2 driver which has lasted the test of time in his bag. Elsewhere, you’ll find him using the TaylorMade Stealth 2 three-wood with a Ping G425 Crossover 2-iron to aid his long game.

Through his 4-iron to Gap Wedge, Matthew uses the Ping i500 irons accompanied by Ping’s Glide 3.0 56-degree and 60-degree wedges.

Another club that has stood the test of time in his bag is a Nike Method Core MC-3i putter which has had to have the SuperStroke grip changed at least three times. Ball of choice is the Titleist ProV1.
