Tiger vs Phil II raises $20 million for charity

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson were joined by two NFL legends for a fun-filled afternoon in Florida

The Match: Champion for Charity raised more than $20 million for Covid-19 relief charities in the United States.

It followed hot on the heels of the TaylorMade Driving Relief that raised more than $5 million for the fight against the pandemic.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson were joined by NFL legends Peyton Manning, reportedly a 6-handicap, and Tom Brady, off 8, at Medalist Golf Club in Florida.

Brady struggled in horrendous weather conditions for most of the round, losing his tee shots at both the 1st and 2nd holes, but he did have the shot of the day with this beauty from the fairway at 7…

“I take my hat off to Tom and Peyton,” Woods said. “This is our arena, this is what we do for a living.

“I couldn’t imagine going on the field and do what they do.”

The Match, which was nine holes of fourball followed by nine holes of alternate shot, was won by a single hole by Woods and Manning.

There were also a series of challenges along the way for added prizes and even Brooks Koepka got involved…

That tweet, by the way, was right before that hole-out at 7.

Most of all, it proved there is a place for this sort of charity event on a regular basis.
