New irons for Rickie and and a new putter for Tiger
It’s always interesting when a brand brings a product to market which is pretty much the same as what a tour player uses.
We saw it last year with the TaylorMade P730 irons which had been designed specifically for Dustin Johnson.
And now Cobra have introduced a set of irons which were designed after working very closely with Rickie Fowler.
Well, in the King Forged MB we pretty much have Fowler’s exact set-up.
But the brand have also added the King Forged CB for a bit more forgiveness in the long irons.
Fowler plays the MB from 4-PW but Cobra expect good amateur players to opt for a combo set with MB from 7-PW and CB from 6-4.
“These consistently deliver the workability and shot-shaping control that I need to be competitive on course,” said Fowler
“I’ve been playing them for a few years, and know better players are going to appreciate the sleek look and soft feel, along with the ability to work the ball without sacrificing forgiveness,” said Fowler.
These undergo a five-step forging process for precise shaping and better feel.
Reconfigured to match Fowler’s gamers, there are tungsten inserts on the toe and in the centre of the club head for added forgiveness, feel and trajectory control.
They come with a KBS S-Taper (black PVD) shaft and are the first-ever Cobra irons to feature Golf Pride Tour Velvet Cobra Connect grips.
A full CB set is available through custom in right and left hand, along with a full MB set in right hand only.

Tiger’s Calamity Jane putter
Tiger Woods looks forward to golf-club shaped boxes arriving at the door as much as I do.
But this one was extra special as it marked his 80th PGA Tour win at the Tour Championship last month.
Look what just came in the mail today. Thank you to everyone for making number 80 so special. pic.twitter.com/xBxx8nb3oB

The Calamity Jane is an exact replica of Bobby Jones’ original putter.
It has a 66˚ lie angle and 8˚ of loft. Must putters today would have about 70˚ and 3˚ respectively.
He must be tempted to put it on eBay just out of curiosity right?
New FootJoy Pro SL models launched
The FootJoy Pro SL has been one of the most successful golf shoe franchises ever.
If it was a brand in itself it would be in the top three in terms of market share.
FootJoy have now tweaked the design and have introduced five new colour options.
The black and the grey/white models will be available from November 15.

They are also adding it to the MyJoys programme where people can design their own styles.

They ooze style – but how do the Cobra Forged Tec Black irons perform?
What’s in Fowler’s bag for 2017?
