Golfbuddy aim V10 review

GolfBuddy Aim V10 review

In the market for a DMD that doesn't over-complicate matters and won't break the bank? Check out the GolfBuddy Aim V10

GolfBuddy have upgraded their Aim series with the new V10. I’ve had this for a few weeks now, so I’ve tried it out a few times. Here’s the lowdown…

GolfBuddy Aim V10 review: First impressions

This is a really tiny compact device. In fact, it’s not even two inches across in either direction, so you can clip it on your cap, bag, belt, or wherever you want.

I got it this rose gold finish, which I love, but it’s available in a variety of colours.

It automatically finds your golf course, so when I pulled it out on the 1st tee it was good to go, which is nice.

GolfBuddy Aim V10 review: The technology

The Aim V10 is designed to allow you to get your yardages faster. This is helped by the audio distance readings to the front, middle and back of the green at the touch of a button.

The audio can be in a male or female voice and in 11 languages, but if you don’t fancy audio yardages you can also see distances to the front, middle and back of the green on the screen, which they’ve enlarged to 1.2″.

It is pre-loaded with 40,000 courses worldwide but pairing with the GolfBuddy app on your phone allows for any other courses to be added free of charge.

The device is water resistant, essential for golfers who have to play in all weather conditions, and has up to 16 hours of battery life, meaning you don’t have to recharge after every round.

GolfBuddy Aim V10 review: NCG verdict

About as easy as it gets to use when it comes to DMDs. This is important for golfers who, like me, don’t want something overly complicated.

It is really helpful when playing courses for the first time or getting yardages for blind holes when you can’t see down to the green.

All courses I tested this on were pre-loaded on the device – but on the off-chance you play somewhere not already uploaded, it’s so easy to add. The battery life was excellent easily lasting me for 36 holes in a day, it is also very simple and quick to charge up after use.

Overall this is a really smart and simple device giving you key yardages to the green in both visual and audio options. Definitely worth a try if you are new to the GPS market and want something which is uncomplicated but still extremely useful and accurate.
